A Sham Marriage with Unexpected Benefits

I ended up eloping and having a surprise wedding with this man, Eric Orleans, who was originally supposed to become my stepbrother.

Under normal circumstances, the ones standing here should have been my mother and Eric Orleans' father.

"If we get caught, we're dead."

My mother, seeing me getting married at her own wedding venue, mouthed those words.

I'm sorry, Mom. But this is all for our family's sake.

We can't just let our family be wiped out by that psychopath stepfather, can we?

The camera flashes went off. The headlines for tomorrow's newspaper articles will probably be something like this:

[Eric Orleans Elopes and Surprise Marries the Daughter of His Father's Fiancée!]

[...They Share a Kiss in the Chapel...]

It's a complete mess, but...

Well, it's a sham marriage anyway, so what does it matter?
